About Us

Climate Cycle, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, was founded out of a concern that today’s youth
lacked the tools necessary to respond to global warming or benefit from the emerging green
economy. Today, Climate catalyzes environmental education in the classroom by developing young
leaders in sustainability. Climate Cycle’s mission is Inspiring ReGeneration. In its first 6 years,
Climate Cycle raised $1.3 million to fund 15 solar panel arrays across 13 schools, in addition to a
medley of other schools-based sustainability projects. These include bike clubs, community garden
efforts, waste reduction campaigns, and more. Additionally, over 40,000 students have been inspired
through interactive assemblies by Chief Education Officer Joey Feinstein, aka Joey FineRhyme

While still reaching students through school presentations on sustainability and what they can do to
help address our shared environmental challenges, Climate Cycle’s flagship project focus has
“switched gears” from school solar installs to classroom “ReGeneration Stations.” These consist of
stationary bike generators powered by students that charge energy banks and run classroom
appliances. Multiple metrics are aggregated by the “Energy Bank” that can be integrated into existing
math and science curriculum, embodying a whole new level of classroom “exercises”
The first ReGeneration Station will be installed at the Prairie Crossing Charter School (PCCS) in
Jaunuary of 2024. The program will be implemented into all K-8 grade levels. Our shared
partnership goal is to create a replicable model that can then be customized for future school
recipients, with an emphasis on low-income schools.

“Climate Cycle is a fun way for school kids to become involved in tackling climate change, an issue
that is already proving to be a defining challenge of this generation. It is my pleasure to fully endorse
these groundbreaking initiatives.” - Arne Duncan, Former US Secretary of Education and Former
CEO of the Chicago Public Schools.
