We are grateful to announce that this past Thursday, December 6th, ING Direct and Capital One joined together to donate $10,000 to Climate Cycle.

Longtime Climate Cycle supporters will recall that Chicago’s ING Direct Cafe has sponsored Ride Info Socials leading up to our annual Ride to Recharge, and the ING Direct Cafe has served as the pre-ride packet pick-up point.

Capital One has acquired ING Direct, and has decided to continue, and even expand upon, the generous support for Climate Cycle previously shown by ING Direct.

Funds donated on Thursday will be used toward our newest program, Road Scholars. Road Scholars kicks off in the summer of 2013. Ten high school students will take a 12 day, 500 mile journey across the Midwest.  Students will gain hands-on experience in the science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields and sustainability, experience new places, animals, people and culture, discover the rewards of self powered travel, and immerse themselves in the beauty of the Midwest.

Please contact Erin Potter, Schools Programming Coordinator, at 872-202-9623 or erin@climatecycle.org, for more information on getting involved in the Road Scholars program.
