2014 Stride to Recharge
1.5 and 3 Mile Routes: Enjoy Chicago’s Beautiful Lakefront
Last year we debuted our walk as part of the Ride to Recharge Series. This year the Stride to Recharge will be even bigger and better!
Students, faculty, and Climate Cycle supporters can stride along Chicago’s beautiful lakefront to raise funds for solar installations and environmental projects to benefit Chicago area schools.
1.5 Mile Route
The shortest of our routes takes the walker alongside Lake Michigan, and turns around at Queen’s Landing, across from Buckingham Fountain.
3 Mile Route
On this route, striders go past Queen’s Landing and turn around at the Museum Campus.
WHERE: 111 N. Lake Shore Drive (E. Randolph St. at the Lakeshore Path, near the north end of Grant Park.) Also called DuSable Harbor.
The site is accessible via CTA:
1) Red Line – Monroe/State
2) Brown/Purple/Green/Pink/Orange Line – Madison/Wabash
3) Blue Line – Monroe/Dearborn
The most direct route is to walk east on Monroe and then north on the lakefront path until you arrive at DuSable Harbor. The walk is about 15 – 20 minutes.
There is a roundabout at Randolph and Lake Shore Drive where participants can be dropped off via car or bus.
Please contact Hanh Pham, Event Producer at email@example.com if you plan to utilize larger vehicles, school buses, etc.
